I wrote "tried to call you" September 30th 2020. I was very frustrated after trying to record vocals for another song all day, and wanted to just make something simple just for me. So I wrote it that night, and finished up the lyrics the next morning. This day I was going to essentially "lock" myself in my room and just produce the whole song within the day. (And I kinda did.)

The next day again, I decided to make this short little video for it. In it you can hear the original demo I had made the day before. Apart from the mixing, it's pretty similar to the released version. I decided to post this video on a private instagram account followed by only one of my friends, and she loved it. So I posted it on another private instagram account that several more of my friends followed, and they loved it too. They asked me to make the account public so they could share it to their stories, so I did. And I got so many wonderful messages that I decided to spend the next weeks mixing and re-recording some instruments so that it got to a place where I felt ready to release it.
